Season 2, Episode 2 : Silent Battles of Fibromyalgia

What is the experience of an unmeasurable disorder that can only be felt?

In the second episode of Reflections in Color, Celebrating Journeys to Wellness, we meet Veronica Foster, a Public Health Advocate in Fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia is a medical condition with chronic, widespread body pain and extreme sensitivity to touch or pressure. In this episode, we learn more about the understudied health condition that affects nearly 3 million people in the US every year. Furthermore, we identify strategies to advocate for personal health needs, how to support a loved one with a chronic health condition,  effective self-care techniques for those inflicted with chronic pain and their caregivers/loved ones, and how to mourn loss of a previous health status.

In Reflection in Color : Celebrating Journeys to Wellness we highlight diverse experiences of mental and emotional distress within the wellness spectrum and bring awareness to real-life challenges. Everyday people share personal stories, reflections, and understanding of their wellness journeys including lessons learned. Most importantly, we identify culture specific, relevant self-care strategies and coping skills to maintain emotional and mental wellness.
